First day when I was selected for it, I kept thinking that I would be lectures, lectures, lectures the whole day. I was wrong!!!!
Day 1 - 03062010.
I was late for school, everyone was waititng! Okay, thousand million apologies. :x Got into the van. Endure, Shawn, Khairul, Ray and .. Me, the only girl. ): Brief by Mrs Hariz on what to do and what no. History goes that behading was done in the WWII in Labrador Park. Wait, that'll creep you out already right! Obviously being the only girl srsly scared me to death. Reach Labrador Adventure Centre (LAC), quite spacious, didn't look scary, at all!!
Group 6 with Endure and Khairul. Scared there was no company since I'm the only girl. Again. Group 6 with Evergreen, Manjusri, Serangoon, Geylang Methodist, St Joseph Convent, Presbyterian High, Anglican High. Ice breaker games - Partner introduction, Eagle and Hen, and Dog and Bone. First new friend there - Eunice from SJI. Ha.
Then it was lunch, not too bad for a start, but didn't finish my food. (Wastage :x) Bussed to Labrador Park* (Ahem, was scared. But it's broad daylight!!!) Did stuff on history. First was military drills, quite tiring actually. Then went on to The Underground Tunnel(casemate). Srsly, it was scary, no air-conditioning since it was spoilt, stuffy and hot! I held on to Khairul's bag during the scary, no-light parts. ): Next was the ammunition carrying thing for the cannon. (Pooooooof! Babooom!) Heavy stuff there, btw my group won! Okay, kinda. Since no winner was mentioned.
Last station was The Pillox. Took pictures of it, and the two teenage army people who were acting like british soldiers were interrogated by funny acting Australian people. Funny!
Bussed back to LAC for early dinner. Next up was Ancient Civilisation Museum(ACM)/Nation Museum of Singapore(NMS). Group 1-5 went to ACM, group 6-10 went to NMS. Being group 6, we went to NMS. :)
Waited for quite a long time before we could start the brief. Chatted with new friends during the wait. Srsly very funny. Brief by museum manager(?). Only allowed to go into the history gallery at 7:15 when the treasure hunt started at 7 cause there were erm... residents. (Obviously there can't be people living in there, so.... Find out yourself.) Initially a little scared. ): Didn't get to group with Endure and Khairul and those in Serangoon, too big group. Grouped with Anglican and Martin from PHS. Quite mind boggling, those questions. Ventured around the galleries, and went to the history gallery. The pathway down it was a long long long long way. Quite scared cause it was dark and I scared the artefacts moved on it's own. :/
Got 32 tokens, then added another....... I-don't-know-how-many tokens. Was tired after everything, but the bus was very very noisy, had a hard time sleeping, wth. Because of the group 7 guys who were trying to impress Jane. Went back to LAC, bathed then went to sleep at 12. Woke up at 2:09AM due to I don't know what reasons. Thought it was 6 already! Went to switch on my phone, and realised it was only 2:09AM. Ugh -,- Then later at 4:08AM due to someone's alarm ringing continuously till 5AM, because they wanted to bath. Then the inconsiderate people after bathing talked !@#$ loudly. Therefore, no mood to sleep. But still, I slept and woke up at 6:27AM. Worst night!
Breakfast then bussed to Redhill!!!! For geog fieldwork activity. Our task was to interview some old folks or anyone living there about if they were happy living at Redhill. We went to Lengkok Bharu. There was a darn cute old lady there, her actions were just super cute! 83 years old (Y) I wanna live to that age hor!!!
Went to Henderson area, that area damn peaceful. I like. So many trees and stuff. Good.
I enjoyed that the most (Y).
Bussed back to LAC, had lunch. Always no rice when it comes to my group's turn. Ugh, I was hungry, but no rice!!! ): Did the preparation for Open House later. Mavis and I did the Montage. It was awesome ;)
The rest did other things. Ate bread after everything, didn't manage to eat rice during lunch, no rice! Only ate the food. Dinner was up next. Had Open House, plus games. Speech done by Samuel from our group!!! Haha!! Too bad I left halfway during his speech but came back because of confusion. Games - Picasso and something like Charades, but in the drawing form. Then we headed for campfire. (Y)!!!! Finally a campfire! Quite high! Haha, Samuel again kenna chosen for a game. Haha! Had some games, learned some claps and all that. The teachers dance crazily funny, swear!! The campfire ended with a montage of us :)
Ate supper then bathed and slept quite late, at 12AM plus, close to 1AM. No disturbance!!! Finally (Y)
Woke up at 6:10AM. Had breakfast. Didn't like it at all. ): Bussed to Fort Canning. Had the heritage trail with facilitator and since it was raining, we wasn't allowed to go out. Aww sad, didn't get to see the places ):
The 'trail' was enlightening! Haha! Srsly enjoyed it :) Learnt a few games like 'Chop Chili Chop', '7-Up(In another form), many others. I will remember it!! Took a group photo! (Y) nice.
Bussed back to LAC. The bus driver was damn muddle-headed. He didn't know the way back. Wth, some more, his bus' name is "Zhong Tong Bus". Sorry, no government class at all!! Some lousy driver from China...
Was late for lunch, and by the time we reached, the rest already eaten and we ate leftovers. Aww. But there were still people waiting to serve us. :p By the time I came, there was again, NO RICE! ): Ate vegetarian food. Damn. Was okay..... But the temptation came, like Cheesels :p and biscuits. Went up the hall to kenna scolding. It's only for the people in the camp! If you want to know, ask me personally.
Girls had to pick up litter and etc. Mrs Tan or something, talked crazily long. We had prize giving, then evaluation. Sad group 6 didn't win anything )': Got our group photo, certificate and badge. :)
After that, it was time to go home and everyone dispersed so quickly! Mostly because their buses were waiting. Took a last picture with Mavis before we parted. Sigh, hope we can meet again!!!!
